Built a configurable, admin-driven PDF generation engine for 600+ sales users across Account, Opportunity, and Account Planning document types — replacing a sprawl of individually maintained templates with a single platform.
Admins configure document types, sections, and field mappings entirely through Custom Metadata Types — selecting which Salesforce objects and fields appear in each section, in what order, and under what label. No code changes or deployments are required to add a new document type or update an existing one.
The solution enforces company-wide design guidelines through a single Visualforce PDF template covering all doc types, so branding, headers, and footers update everywhere simultaneously. Every generation is logged with the user, document type, source record, and timestamp — creating a full audit trail across the sales org.
For reps, the experience is a single button on any record page. The generated PDF is stored directly on the record and available in the Files related list with no manual formatting or copy-paste.
